June 24- 26, 2011: The Michigan Energy Fair, Ludington, Michigan

Windustry is excited to partner with Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association to present a full Community and Small Wind program at the 6th annual Michigan Energy Fair at the Mason County Fairgrounds. Topics include: Wind Energy Basics; Introduction to Community Wind; Case Studies of Community and Small Wind; Small Wind Assessment; Landowner Leasing and pooling; Wind Siting and Zoning in Michigan.

Michigan Wind Resource Data

Michigan State University Extension Service has data available from 9 anemometers located around the state. Data goes back to 2006 on some towers.

Environmental Assessments in the Great Lakes Region Webinar

This webinar was hosted by Windustry and the Great Lakes Regional Wind Energy Institute with support from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory on May 18, 2010. Great Lakes Regional Wind Energy Institute Annual Meeting 2010

The Great Lakes Regional Wind Energy Institute Annual Meeting was held on March 1-2, 2010 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Attendees heard presentations on a variety of topics, including: transmission planning and strategy for the great lakes region, wind project economics, renewable energy credit markets and state renewable portfolio standards, and challenges and opportunities in siting wind projects. U.S. Mid-Size Wind Turbine Development Workshop

Detroit, MI - One of the most significant barriers to the growth in deployment of mid-size turbines in the United States is the lack of turbines; there are few mid-size turbines on the market today. To fill this technology gap, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will launch a Mid-size Wind Turbine Development Project in FY 2010 to facilitate the development and commercialization of mid-size wind turbines.
